It is important that you cover your hot-mopped deck to protect it from damage from U.V. rays and other trades and/or equipment that need to work on your deck before the finish product is applied. If possible scratch coat with mortar and cover with drywall or other sheet goods. At the very least, cover with 15lb building paper and sheet goods. Additional protection under scaffolding or equipment is recommended.
